Long Way Down is a TV series about 2 actors, Ewan McGregor from Trainspotting and Star Wars and his friend Charley Boorman, who ride their motorbikes from Scotland to South Africa. It is an amazing journey to see on TV and although I haven't read the book, I am sure it would be full of adventures and insights into the African cultures they experience.
This is the pair's second motorcycle adventure; a few years ago they rode from London to New York through Europe, Russia and North America. That was called Long Way Round and was awesome to watch. I thoroughly recommend the books or DVDs.

I love this book　　（2007-10-25）
It's about four persons who meet on New Years Evening on a tall building in London in order to commit suicide. Polite - like British people are - they introduce themselves to each other. As a result, the plan of jumping from the roof is no longer feasible... This is a book about human vulnerability that shows how fragil the ideas of a life worth living or a misery worth dying are. Being a Hornby book it is a laugh, too. Oh, and if you missed Tino Georgiou's--The Fates--I strongly recommend reading it.
